1. Our first Mentor Accelerate session

We're really excited to have launched our first Mentor Accelerate session!

This pilot programme is designed to help rising stars in the industry fast-track their leadership development by empowering the next generation of talent.

Six of our industry mentors will learn Academy’s world-class coaching skills alongside six of our scholars.

Across the 3-month sprint, they’ll practice coaching each other – a unique approach that aims to give our mentors the opportunity to apply their coaching skills for good, while helping our scholars build their confidence in their new roles.

It was great hearing our mentors talk about their experiences to our alums and sharing their invaluable insights Daniel Swainston C., Zak WaltersGeorgina Steele MEngRichard GranvilleHelen Byrne & Edward Heaver.

Continuing engagement with our scholars is a core part of our ongoing career development here at Academy, so we’re delighted that you found the session useful Aaron LeeMaryam Reis-DehabadiJay-Ann Bravo-HarriottSabrina EvansAkwasi Appiah & India Abbott.

We look forward to our future community events for alums and current scholars alike!

2. Cohort 4 complete their first week!

C4 have completed their first week of full-time training at Academy.

Our fifth cohort at Academy! We want to say a massive thank you to our Scholars for making getting the week off to a flying start.

We are using a virtual environment called Cosmos to facilitate our Cohort meetings. A first for us at Academy so thank you to everyone for embracing it!

A huge congratulations to our C4 scholars — here’s to Week 2!

3. We had a great event with The Tech Bae

On Wednesday we welcomed Tech Bae and their community to our introduction event.

Members of the Academy team joined over 100 guests as we shared more about Academy, our story and our application process.

We want to get Academy in front of as many people as possible so that we get the most passionate and driven folk coming through our doors.

Partnering with Tech Bae allowed us to speak to a community focused on developing a career in technology. Tech Bae specifically encourages black women and those who have no prior experience in tech to explore it and provides pathways to support development.

We can’t wait to hopefully connect again with The Tech Bae Platform!
